Commercial Overview & Purity Grades

Shakti Group manufactures Dissolved Acetylene (DA) at dedicated chemical generation facilities by reacting calcium carbide with water under controlled temperature. Acetylene gas is dissolved under pressure into liquid acetone contained within a monolithic porous mass inside maroon steel cylinders, fully complying with IS:308 and PESO statutory safety standards.

  • Commercial DA (≥ 98.5% IS:308 Compliant)
  • Purified Acetylene (≥ 99.5%)
  • Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) Grade (≥ 99.6%)

Packaging & Supply Formats

Available in Standard DA Maroon Cylinders (6m³ to 8.5m³ / 4.5 to 7.0 kg), Manifolded DA Cylinder Packs (MCP 6 to 12 Cylinders).

  • Standard DA Cylinders (Maroon): Monolithic mass cylinders filled with acetone solvent to safely stabilize high-pressure acetylene. (Ideal for: Ship breaking, heavy structural fabrication, pipeline welding, and automotive repair.)
  • Manifolded DA Cylinder Packs (MCP): Ganged cylinder banks with approved flashback arrestors and heavy-duty steel lifting cages. (Ideal for: Large shipyard construction, heavy boiler fabrication, and continuous steel mill scrapping.)

Industrial Applications & Use Cases

Key manufacturing and process applications of Dissolved Acetylene (DA) across industrial sectors:

  • Metal Fabrication & Cutting: Oxy-acetylene profile cutting, beveling, heavy plate severance & rapid preheating [Recommended: ≥ 98.5% IS:308 Standard]
  • Ship Repair & Infrastructure: Heavy flame gouging, rivet washing, and thermal structural beam straightening [Recommended: ≥ 98.5% Commercial DA]
  • Analytical Laboratories: Fuel gas in Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) for trace metal analysis [Recommended: ≥ 99.6% AAS Grade]
